No. 1 Canyon Drainage Improvements

In 2012 wildfires in the No. 1 Canyon area of Wenatchee wiped out many of the grasses and plants on the hillsides. The severe rains that came the following spring, combined with the denuded hillsides, caused flooding events in the urban areas of the canyon. We developed one of multiple distilling basins (required within the canyon) that removed debris from stormwater flows, improving drainage characteristics within the canyon.
The project included:
- Conceptual pond layouts
- Complete hydraulic modeling of the facility and construction plans for the project
- Relocation of several utilities in the adjoining roadway
- Replacement of the existing box culvert under the roadway to improve flow characteristics
- Construction management and inspection services
